is the first trimester over after 12 weeks or 3 months? i keep hearing both things, and man--that's a big difference. 12 weeks is this friday. 3 months isn't till the 20th. i vote 12 weeks. i am actually feeling marginally better, although it's still a shaky thing. i have to eat or i get all lightheaded. but if i eat the wrong thing, watch out! also this whole peeing thing is getting old, too.
my car is dead, and so THK and i were waiting this morning for AAA to come and tow it away. they were late, clearly not understanding the full limitations of my bladder. so i call carrie--a friend who is a) also pregnant, and b) lives close to where the car died. she was home thank god, so i started walking to her house. another friend leanne, was at carrie's when i called, and fully sympathized with my plight, so she actually came and picked me up, drove me to carrie's to pee, then drove me back to my car. it's like the pregnant woman rescue brigade. leanne told me to get used to this kind of help. and i told her--i am GLAD to have it! these are women with whom our baby will be spending a lot of time in it's early days. these are the women in jenn's fabulous and wonderful play group. their children will be our baby's older siblings and cousins as it grows, and i can't begin to tell you how lucky i feel to have that available. if i can't be home to take care of the baby myself, then at least thank god i have jennifer to take my place. she, and her group of friends, is truly truly a god-send.
but anyway--back to me. i am tired and distracted and hugry, but it's been over 36 hours since i have thrown up. this, people, is progress. (excuse me while i knock on somehting solid and wodden right this second, before it's too late.)
still off limits: chili, most cheese, cream, cereal for breakfast
the good stuff: grilled cheese with nasty pasteurized process cheese food slices and vegetable soup, peanut butter toast, cold iced tea (wish i had some RIGHT NOW)
oh yeah--did i mention i fell on my ass while walking around my neighborhood with kristin last week? i told my mother and she goes--well, that was stupid. thanks, mom. as though i wasn't already afraid i had killed the baby. it's fine though. my leg is healing slowly, as is the bruise on my boob. i am some clumsy shit right now.
