i have always been a person with strong food cravings. i am that girl who will interrupt the physics homework at 2am to make blueberry scones because--well--who doesn't love blueberry scones (mmmm...scones...). but now the cravings are not only specific, they also don't go away until satisfied. they are stronger than ever before, and that is saying something. and on a day like today, where i have felt like boiled ass since 1am when i was awakened by the throbbing of my head--it's also saying something that there's anything i want to eat at all.
so that nasty burger king chicken sandwich? that one that tastes nothing like chicken and everything like chemically engineered spiced and deep-fried meat product? the one where the mayonnaise covered hunks of lettuce keep falling off and down the front of your shirt the same way they used to in high school (what's with that anyway)? the one that's so hot that it burns your entire mouth? the one with the fluffy white sesame seed bun? yeah. i went out of my way to get one and ate the whole thing in the car on the way home, and it just might have been the best thing i have eaten in a year. i have to make the hippie go get me another one. like now.

i don't remember strong cravings w/dylan, but w/ bailey i would crave certain "types" of food. one day i HAD to have italian...another, mexican. i also had a thing for steamed clams which i am rather confident are close to the top of a big NO-NO list these days.
I had the identical craving during one of my pregnancies and was so embarrassed that later that night at birth class I fibbed about what I'd eaten that day so as not to horrify the other mommies-to-be. Of course, in retrospect I'm sure they had some processed-food skeletons in their closets, too :)
have you craved a bojangles chicken biscuit yet ? damn! i crave them all the time, and i'm not pregnant !
with the hippie it was Big Macs, lol, after that tuna fish sub. There was a McD's on the way home from work, about 3 min, but that was way too far to suit the craving. just being able to eat anything at that time was a blessing, but yes, isn't it crazy that it's that processed stuff that seems so good! hippie seems to have turned out ok, in spite of it, we should all have that immune system!
Hee! :) I'm just glad you are starting to be able to eat again....
